It's been used before by Sky for Cricket and by others in finals just not in the Premier League games. The NFL havre used it for a long while.

Some speculation here that the price paid for sports rights may be reaching its peak.

I'm truly astonished by that , you truthfully think it can continue to climb at the levels it has ?

From what I have read BT are going to have to do something pretty radical to get people to watch Champions league the figures have been dier. UEFA took the money and sacrificed the product, I cannot see them making the same mistake twice.

Really Den have you thought that comment through, despite all the evidence. Massive sky discounts on sky sports, etc.

Since leaving BT I kid you not they have rang me at least 4 times trying to offer me new deals each time I've politely declined. The football costs are way over the top and are now pushing the pay TV costs up for all in my opinion.
Have a read of this , this illustrates the increase in Sky's costs but the same goes for all providers with there constant hikes.

I think I have said before but my costs for VM are lower now than 5 years ago. The cost reduction is coming from my Sky Spts sub as each time I have phoned up there always seems a deal.

Because these days less and less people are prepared to pay full price , perfectly proves my point.

Discounts on Sky don't necessarily mean that Sports rights are suddenly going to come down as have you seen any proof of that AB?.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
We have provided many links and reasons why we believe the sharp increases we've seen over the last few football rights won't continue please enlighten us to why you believe it will.
(I should point out I'm saying we won't see the huge increases going forward not we won't see any.)

But what it does prove is that customers are not prepared to pay the full amount of subscribing to Sky Sports. I doubt Sky will wish to underwrite this for the next EPL deal.
If they do that's fine as I will not be paying full price.

l stated that there is no chance of sports rights staying the same or going down but l still think they will continue to rise but not as much as we have seen.

You forget Sky and BT are bitter enemies in the marketplace and their main aim is to win customers from each other and if that means not being outbid for important sports rights and one is not going to see any one of them suddenly roll over and let the other one take important sports rights unless you think otherwise AB?.
