Now that movies & sports in HD is split on Sky, surely our £7 charge should go down to £5.25?

I know I asked this when Sky announced it but I'm still failing to see why this isn't implemented (like when Sky HD pack went from per box to per house, ours followed suit within a month).

Personally I'd expect that the fee will be part of the last carriage agreement, and likely can't be changed unless/until the agreement is renegotiated

Plus mostly what Sky have done is put half their old fee into the Entertainment Extra+ TV pack, the total cost still seems to be the same as far as I can see

So no doubt they'll sit on their hands as only we the customer would benefit financially, not them.

I hear the deal for Sky Movies and Sky Sports HD is up this summer.

The fee goes straight to Sky - Virgin Media don't benefit financially

I can only add up 30 HD channels being on XL Pack right now.

I think the two new ones will be TLC HD and Animal Planet HD.

And the countdown begins 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 We have liftoff.

That was my point, they won't renegotiate sooner because it will only benefit us, the customer, not Virgin.

It's also up to Sky as to when to renegotiate, not just VM

Sky’s concern over the threat from BT Sport is also understood to be part of the reason for the delay in agreeing a carriage deal with Virgin for their cable customers to access Premier League matches next season.

Sky, who had to pay far more than expected for PL rights because of BT Sport’s entry into the market, need to recoup some of that cost by charging Virgin more for their platform contract. And they will be wary of Virgin bundling BT Sport’s PL games into subscription offerings.

I think that if Sky withhold certain sports channels or they are not on VM for the start of the EPL season in August then I will move to Sky...
