Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Gareth Bale FC don't look very good without Gareth Bale...
---------- Post added at 19:58 ---------- Previous post was at 19:44 ----------
To be fair the ref has been awful again...it seems nearly every English club gets a lot of poor decisions against them in Europe.

I still don't think it should count in extra time.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
The problem with the away goal rule is two fold. First of all it is wrong that the away team gets an extra half an hour to score but it's also slightly absurd that the prospect of a 0 - 0 result followed by a 1 - 1 result is enough to send a team though. It creates bizarre tactics and notions for the following leg, especially when you consider that playing the second leg at home is meant to be an advantage.
I always want to play the second leg away because then you know where you stand and away goals advantage you. If Arsenal scored one more the other day then we'ld have at least forced extra time and another goal still would have killed the tie despite only being 1 goal up.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
You have summed it up perfectly but one cannot see this rule changing anytime soon.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Europa League Draw
Chelsea v Rubin Kazan
Tottenham Hotspur v FC Basel
Fenerbahce v Lazio
Benfica v Newcastle United
Winnable ties for all three English teams, would effectively mean:
#1 An all English Semi
#2 A guaranteed English finalist.
#3 A high chance of an all English Final.

Yes as long as the English teams play to their potential l can see the third happening.
