Re: New Speeds - June 1st
I'm happy with the 10MB service, even though i'm only getting 7-8MB since i'm only paying £17.49 per month for it for the next 12 months!

Re: New Speeds - June 1st
Following this great news, i have upgraded my broadband service to 2mb so i can get this great upgrade
(this is my first post, i have found this site very usefull, i would like to thank you all!)
Have to get a new STB. just wondering if the upgrade itself will be in the system yet? will my upload speed change even before i get the box?

Re: New Speeds - June 1st
i'm on 10 meg and recently my upload has been jumping up to 70kB/s for about 10 seconds from time to time. could be teating faster uploads.
As for traffic shaping, If they do do it lets hope there sensible with it and do somthing like 50% of the maximum speed for each tier at peak times.

Nah sorry that's just the way it goes, the shaping that the modem does isn't always 100% and it's certainly not impossible for the upstream cap to be broken briefly from time to time.

Re: New Speeds - June 1st
it isnt like ntl cant handle 1 meg upstream as i am sure they can.... why not push the boat out ? and give it a trial for say a month or 2 ?
