A BBC expert has warned users of so-called ‘dodgy firesticks’ that they’re committing ‘a crime’ and could face fines - and those selling them could end up in prison.

Former detective Rav Wilding said police are now going through the accounts of sellers to trace people who are using them to watch premium content for free - and getting in touch.

There's nothing dodgy about a plain android firestick.

They're all "plain android firesticks".

A ‘fully loaded’ Fire TV Stick is a standard Amazon Fire TV Stick that has been modified, “jailbroken,” or side-loaded with unauthorised third-party apps, custom media players (like Kodi), and illegal IPTV subscriptions.
It's possible to jailbreak and side-load apps yourself, but that still leaves the illegal IPTV subscriptions with links to bank accounts.

Re: IPTV Services

To jailbreak a device you need to modify some sort of code on it to allow you to run an exploit and was coined in the days of the ipod all you do with a firestick is change a few settings and download Downloader from the app store then install what you want. Not a jailbreak

As for tracing my bank I buy off shore thank you FACT will not track me in a UK raid

Re: IPTV Services

My devices are not dodgy and perfectly legal including the software on them, I'm not going to jail for installing an account on it I bought from some random offshore site. Lol

Re: IPTV Services

Even sellers get a cease a desist before they get the knock so you get a good warning and that is if you sell. The only people I know of to get in any real trouble as a user are a few pubs and clubs who use it in a commercial practice

I hope you are 100% clean in your life never break the law never speed nothing because you are coming across as a bit judgy and you know the saying let him without sin cast the first summons

Just pointing out the risks, nothing more.

Seller has given me the ability to sort the playlist but it doesn't have sub folder options to enable disable only by country which is annoying I don't need foreign general entertainment only sports. Oh well. No buffers as of yet without Nord. With Nord it's behaving ok. Let's see how it goes tonight for Monday night football...
How're you getting on with the Trex, I hope it makes a good backup for your likely better service?

Re: IPTV Services

Ah sorry I totally forgot I had it until today. It was smooth. I was particularly impressed by the zap times. I had uhd on which it performed well. With the services I already have the provider can disable sub folders unlike trex which is the only negative I found. Disable enable by country is permissible only.

I'll buy trex if I run into issues with my current two playlists.

I think a player that supports hiding what you don't want will help.
