Re: At last Sky Atlantic concrete news [Not] coming to Virginmedia [Anytime Soon]

The word "exclusive", heavily used in the early days, is gone though. I know that's splitting hairs, but there'sa big difference between loudly proclaiming something as exclusive and quietly putting "only on Sky 108" underneath the channel logo. It does suggest that they are open to the idea that it won't be exclusive for ever.

Not moving from Sky to Virgin until they get Sky Atlantic. Game of thrones and Boardwalk Empire are enough reasons for me to want to keep Sky Atlantic.

Sky owners don't watch it. Take the stories about Mad Men only getting 50k viewers. When we get it (And we will as they are gonna need the advertising revenue) we will probably not watch it, and move onto the next shiny thing Sky has that we don't.

Thanks for a new definition of 'crap'; i.e. anything that you don't like. I can see that becoming the only standard by which we all judge things by. Well done you!

How is it overhyped? May be on here it is by VM customers but Sky market this channel as a niche channel with high quality first runs of critically acclaimed shows. Sky have Sky One and Sky Living ad their main stream pay tv offerings.

I was with Sky until late last year, and I never watched it, because there wasn't anything on it that I wanted to watch. My wife watched a couple of programs that were over hyped, but didn't bother watching them again.

So Atlantic may be good for some people, but for me I'm far too busy to have time to go looking for new things to watch, when there are enough channels already. Especially as the Tivo records programs that are similar to what I like anyway.
