The pure positive report is done with one thing in mind, that any public member who reads it must think everything is cool... but is it really.
Don't get me wrong VM is not the only business on this planet who has used this kind of tactic to drum potential customers and growth.

But this is a report by Ofcom, on Ofcom's website. It's nothing to do with VM.

EDIT: More information to add.
If they didn't feel the need to oversell, they may have put their priorities into other areas like why are we wasting money and time sending out a small thing like an attenuator that only a tech should fit... this takes up a tech spot that could be used for a more needing customer elsewhere who have now got to wait longer.
I mean they send out modems with instructions on how to fit, an attenuator is equally easy to set up... hell if they think a non-techie customer can fit a co-ax, RJ45 and power connector into the back of the modem.. surely they could easily fit the attenuator into back of modem and then co-ax into back of attenuator.
It would save the company more money not sending out techs to do silly jobs like this. Also the modems, they send these out like candy... more overspending on hardware to be sent out, hell I bet some of them disappear and end up in someone's house chipped... which is a big annoyance to some people in some areas since the chipped modems are leeching illegal bandwidth, and if someone managed to even upload a fake docsis file to the modem via a local tftp server they could be easily on 50 mb dedicated up and down. Until from what I have heard if the modem resets due to power cut or UBR downtime, maybe UBR's have systematic downtimes or force modems to reset on nodes to combat this, if this happens the docsis file is of course lost and seeks a new one. And of course some poor customer gets a letter in saying they have been downloading too much and must desist, but they have no idea why, cause someone has cloned their mac-addy.
In the end all I am saying is if they prioritise correctly the costs would go down, it's kinda common sense in a manner of speaking.

You have a dislike of VM and that can be deduced from the fact that most if not all of your posts indicate and push that dislike of all things VM.
The report is from OFCOM, By OFCOM but because its VM that they have reported as improved you have stated its wrong.
If it had been about any other company you have stated in a previous post you would believe it as its not about VM. Therefor your post is totally irrelevant as you have a one sided agenda which is to promote a view that VM is bad no matter what.
I however am not so one sided as to say VM are perfect. I understand they make mistakes just like any other company, Sometimes they are there worst enemy and just take the superhub as an example of that. However i feel they are improving and can get better.

Re: VM has least complaints on Landline & Broadband.
if you look at the way that digital services have expanded over the last 5 or so years and the short time frame that companies such as VM have had to adapt and the price they supply those services i don't think they are doing too bad at all .The whole digital network is a ongoing learning curve for all companies involved

It was a report into ISP who had had official complaints lodged with OFCOM and Virgin Media had the least of these. Where's the negative?

Erm... it was an OFCOM report. Nothing to do with VM whatsoever.
What was that about your not having an agenda?

Anyone remember when this thread wasn't a provocative points scoring exercise?
No?
Probably because from the first page and first reply it was. Pity.

Re: VM has least complaints on Landline & Broadband.
Yes it was reported on Ofcom's site, but where did the info come in the first place. Aha.
Yes I have a somewhat dislike for VM, ever since VM became VM it has been downhill. Never had a problem much with C&W,TW or BY. If there was a problems they were dealt with quickly, and it wasn't a marathon to try and get compensation for a bad service you had.
For years with the former companies I had no reason to ask for a discount to stay etc, for years I said. Then the last few years I have managed to get to a triple loyalty discount with VM, but why would I go for discounts? Because their service, support and general unhelpfullness to the customer has made me take the discounts to stay, and in only in a couple of years compared to the triple the time with the others with no discounts.
So yeah I have a reason enough to not like them, and I wish people would do the same thing, because eventually they will end up screwing the customer that much people will lose count on ways they do it. The more people demand discounts to stay etc the more they will wake up and perhaps do something to improve their service greatly rather than in little chunks.

Re: VM has least complaints on Landline & Broadband.
Aha! Ofcom - it comes from customers who contacted Ofcom directly.....
Quote:

On average Ofcom receives about 450 telecoms complaints a day from consumers. Such complaints are likely to be made where a consumer has been unable to resolve an issue with their provider to their satisfaction. We keep a record of these complaints by service and by provider, and believe that such information would be useful for consumers: alongside other things, this data may be relevant to those considering a new service or provider. Consumer groups have called on Ofcom to publish such information

Re: VM has least complaints on Landline & Broadband.
Let's try to keep the thread on topic, please - there are lots of other threads about the superhub you could put that in.
