Some hope now as I had a bottle of water in my bag and the water spilled on my mobile and also forgot to bring my Ditital camera with me as well. But at least I have my lappy working and thats a bonus

Take the battery out of the mobile & leave the back off so it can dry out - even blast it with a hair dryer - you may get it back? No guarantees, though - there was a feature about this on the 'gadget show' recently

Re: Going to hotel with no WiFi

I think I'ts gone beyond that as the glass has a crack on it but the waitress took it apart and put it into the hottest part of the kitchen. Hopefully it will have dryed out by the morning but not holding out much hope as nearly half a bottle of water went on it before I noticed it

best way to get a phone back that's been wet - put it in a jar with rice, seal the lid and leave it in a warm place for a day or so. Rice is hydroscopic - it will suck the moisture out of the phone.

The battery however may be toast.

Re: Going to hotel with no WiFi

Thanks Gazan. Also It's great to be home as well with the ordinary internet as I found the dongle very tepmermental and kept going on and of. I was staring to lose patience with it. I had two bars on it so would that have anything to do with it. Next time that I do go away I just couldn't be bothered putting myself throgh that again trying to get it to keep getting it to connect

yup, only two bars means a borderline signal, not a surprise given the nearby mountains - unfortunately you are at the mercy of the provider putting in repeaters - glad you had a nice time, though
