I've fixed the flashing green light with a 1cm square of insulating tape.
And today my headache has disappeared.
That just leves the VOD !!

Re: Solent Installations- Important Information
Same problem with the flashing lights for me. have PM'd numbers to BBKing. Got engineer coming out this afternoon as well so will update later.
I wonder if I will need to give the engineers dog water like last time, maybe I should have got some dog food in for it.

That seems to be the standard response now.
It's Groundhog day revisited. Look away if you don't want to know the ending.
(As yet, there is no ending to the story)

I was going to go for the VIP package but, once again, I'll see what transpires!
Modem 100%, Samsung 100%, V+ 90%.

Same here my V+ box seems to be working fine and I'm loving it (apart from that flashing light, VOD and I have had two spontanous reboots) . But I want to get it all working properly otherwise this will drag on for ages.

Re: Solent Installations- Important Information
wanna hear something else amusing went upstairs checked my samsung box and lo and behold NO CHANNELS - Smartcard is invalid, so just phoned faults for the 4th time today, to be told i will be called back in 20 minutes to see if i have my channels back. Now im starting to wornder if they have the correct smart card info for my V+ box, and that that may be why its not working as it should be.
Hehe, fun day im having here

Re: Solent Installations- Important Information
OK. I see a pattern emerging here.
I have had my V+ box installed this morning. I have no VOD and no V+. My online light is flashing. I live in Gosport. My old Samsung box does not have all the channels I have subscribed to.
Sound familiar??????
I have called 151 twice already and spoken to four different people. Each one seemed to offer a remedy that would solve the problem ranging from 2 minutes to 2 hours.
I can only come to the conclusion that these people know absolutely nothing about the services they are providing.
I even tried to explain that the online light is flashing because it can't sync with the equipment at the other end. AAAAAAAAAAaaarrrrrrggghhhh!

Re: Solent Installations- Important Information
My samsung fixed now... V+ still flashing online light.... Person i spoke to on the phone said that everything is set up as it should be, i proved it wasnt when my samsung lost all its chanels and its smart card pairing... The person on the phone said he wasnt too sure why it wasnt working but said that it was due to the V+ not being able to communicate with the virgin servers, which is what is needed for VOD (i knew this). As i said earlier been passed on to second line faults again. I will let you know the outcome of this. There does seem to be a trend with NEWLY installed V+ boxes having this exact same issue!

Re: Solent Installations- Important Information
Just in case anyone wants to check out the diagnostic pages on the box....
unplug the power cable, hold the up and down buttons down and plug the cable back in. keep the buttons pressed until the box has fully powered up. You should now see the diagnostic screens (12 of them) Use the left/right buttons to scroll through the pages. I don't understand most of it but maybe some else could shed some light on them?

Re: Solent Installations- Important Information
I had channels on my V+ box while the engineers were still here yesterday and they gave me a quick demo of the functions, there is however sometimes where channels can take up to 24 hours to fully appear.

A word of warning do not make any changes in the diagnostic pages as you will need a tech call.
