Had a call from NTL Sales at the request of retentions :
Latest (Version of the saga) is that installations can be booked from 20th Dec for January 8th or after (remember that there are NO installations from 22nd Dec to 2 Jan INC so there will be a back log and currently in some areas installations are being booked for 1st week of january already)
All installations not yet completed are to be cancelled so says the man from nottingham sales call centre
This was of course as at 18:05 this evening and it will all have changed by 18:06 .....
Called sky and surprise surprise Sky+ can be installed on friday !
Why is life with ntl always so hard !

Re: Roll out delayed !!!
i can understand peoples gripes with ntl for telling them 1 minute it will be fitted then cancelling the next, but surely we have to remember that it isnt even officially launched yet and if it wasnt for forums like this no one would know it even existed. so if ntl are holding it back because of software issues isnt that a good thing?

it would of been better if CS had been consistent in their answers - they should of said to everyone who phoned who weren't in the initial release area to phone back after Xmas which would of given them a chance to iron out any bugs - instead people were told december & therefore are now disappointed when they are told it's going to be January at the earlies

Re: Roll out delayed !!!
It's quite incorrect to say that no one would know about TVDrive if it weren't for forums like this. Like everyone else in the Glasgow area I got a mail shot from NTL telling me how wonderful it was and encouraging me to sign up - which I did. Nowhere in the mail shot did it say that it was a test or even a restricted launch nor did it say anything about any teething problems. I knew that Telewest had been using it for some months and assumed that, because of this, and the fact that the box is a Scientific Atlanta one which has been used for some time by a number of cable companies in the US, all the teething problems would have been ironed out. But then I forgot it was NTL I was dealing with.
