Extensions that are easier to install than I can possibly describe (Extensions are additional features that people write that you can pick and choose whether to have)
That's just the absolute basics from the top of my head, and I'm just a layman, not a Firefox/Thunderbird expert.
Do what Richard suggests and install it. It doesn't take over your PC, it doesn't have to be the default browser. If the worst happens and you don't like it, you can uninstall it and it won't leave a trace of its existence.
NB I take a lot of convincing over 'alternative browsers', because Internet Explorer 'does the job' pretty much, but Firefox is so much better, and is SIMPLER to use than IE is. That was always the issue...alternative browsers were always too complicated and so never caught on. This is different, I promise!

You can't?
I'm able to use AdBlock to block Flash ads, with no problem at all.
Should work perfectly. What have you tried?

I think some sites are wising up to this, I've seen some putting media requested stream links in the /ads/ folders

So block http://*.site.com/ads/ then.

Right clicking the flash advert, which doesn't work as you've clicked the flash console instead. if i right click just next to it, i can remove it but i can't block it subsequently which is no good.
If i browse several pages with flash ads it slows my pc (which isn't even slow) down to a crawl when scrolling web pages. :grr:
How do I do it, i want to block all flash ads from certain adservers but i don't want to turn off flash so i can listen to cool chav p-takes and play cool games? (you will be rewarded!)
