They've added Hersham and Peteborough to the pilot areas between today and the 16th

Is this to test new additions/amendments to the 15.2 update? Seems strange to add two new areas out of the blue.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
As far as I'm aware only change to the pilot software is the fix for the PBS EPG issue

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
So what is the point of the two new test areas? Is there something I'm missing?

Probably to make sure when the code drop is sent in one go (including the PBS issue fix) it all goes ok.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
So...TiVo was installed today and although I've only had a short time to play the new menu system is gorgeous.
It feels really quick and yes there are a couple of issues such as lower res menus, but hopefully they'll be fixed.
One thing - why do some channels appear with bigger fonts than others? (in TV guide menu)

I think it depends on the length of the channel name, it tries to change the font size to fit more in.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just had my Tivo installed today :-)
Took 30 minutes to crash so badly I had to switch it off to reboot [reset didn't work] :-(
At least the guides and menus are no longer blurry.....
When setting a series link is it necessary to always set it to record 1-3 minutes longer, to avoid missing the end of something?

The TiVo doesn't have a dynamic EPG so it is best to add padding to programmes where the ending is critical. Some BBC programmes have a tendency to start before scheduled time.
The TiVo is still the best PVR by miles! Enjoy!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
There seems to be a few who have had issues with TIVO boxes failing at install , are they generally reliable ?

Are the 500gb and 1 TB exactly the same component wise ? My parents have a 500gb install at the end of this month.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
The terabytes were built ages ago, just sitting in the warehouse, 500gb are selling like mad so are a new batch. My opinion is that the newer batches aren't built as good as the old ones as TiVo faults have only really picked up over the last few weeks
