Excuse me? Some people have more important things going on in their life right now to want the hassle of sorting out some poxy VM package...

Dude you have thrown it this way so can I ask what it is thats so important that you cannot spare a few moments to call VM to reduce the cost of your considerably out of whack deal.

Hmm my so called "speed boost" has changed from Feb-March 2016 to this now.
Your connection speed will increase from up to 100Mbps to up to 150Mbps. It's all thanks to DOCSIS® 3 - the magic in our cables.
Due to a technical glitch we can't tell you exactly when to expect your speed boost. We're fixing that now, so please check back later.
Any one else had this changed on them or in Area 21?

I get where you're coming from. I value my time, literally. I go by my hourly rate and if something can be done for less than that, I'm prepared to pay it rather than do it myself. If it takes me 3 hours to do something that someone else will do for £50? I'm better off paying the professional.
However, it really didn't take long to change my package. Called up, waited on hold (in which case I just put it on speaker with the volume down low while I plodded about, actually replying on here I think), when I eventually got through the whole thing took me like 10mins, 15mins at a push - and that includes going through DPA, giving credit card details, etc.
Now I've worked out that I'll be saving, over 1 year, near enough £180. That's worth even an hour of my time. Even considering that you can just do it next month, that still works out at a loss of about £15 for every month you leave it. But hey, it's your time

Still saving quite a bit through the year, got my 200meg early (came through nearly instantly) and nothing of value was lost.

Crikey. We've got the same 152/TV XL and M phone and only the one TiVo box (to your two), and we pay £80 a month. We're not even in contract! I think it's time we gave them a ring!
Our area is only scheduled for the uplift in February 2016 onwards.

I only had 1 tivo and 1 standard box, but as I never used the second box, I was happy to drop it. Just FYI.
My area is scheduled January-March for the uplift, too. Godspeed!

Re: Virgin Media 70, 150 & 200 Mb Upgrades
Just called to request my upgrade to 200Mb and was categorically told it wasn't yet available in Swansea. I told the advisor that I know of people in Swansea already on 200Mb, and that the postcode checker shows 200Mb being available to me if I was a new customer but he wasn't having any of it.
He then advised that the 200Mb advertised on the postcode checker isn't accurate as the service is advertised as up 200Mb, even though according to him 200Mb isn't even theoretically possible.
Couldn't make it up.

I hate people who don't know what they are talking about and just bs you. If I were you I would ring retentions and complain and let them put it through for you.

Indeed mate.
The service is great when working, however I've had a couple of problems this last couple of months and the customer service has been absolutely diabolical.
I lost all services the other night, called tech support and they confirmed that 95% of my area was offline. They refused to raise a fault to networks and insisted on booking me an engineer. It took about 5 minutes of heated discussion to make the guy change his mind.
Not sure whether this is VM policy, or just shocking training for staff but either way it's really not acceptable.
I'm not tarring everybody with the ****** brush as I know there are some very good people working there, but it seems the likeliness of getting through to one of them gets more and more remote as the years go by.
I tried retentions today BTW and they're closed on a Sunday. How convinient...
