Yes, I thought that he used to sweat quite a bit as well.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
this is what I never understand about Giggs and why I don't rate him as highly as others. I'm a United fan and I have to Giggs is one of the most frustrating and lazy players of all time.
He's meant to be world class but still after 20 season can't take a corner. He's played about 100 games as a striker and never got to grips with the role. Flicks the ball with the outside of the boot constantly, usually leading to us giving the ball away. Can't be bothered to track back anymore and sometimes stands dead still once beaten. After the treble season he seemed to disappear for the next 3 seasons
I feel if he hadn't been there so long he wouldn't win the league. I'd argue over his time Scholes, Beckham or Schmeical were all better and more consistent players than Giggs will ever be. It's as if he came into the side at 17 with bags of talent so thought he didn't need to bother developing any further

lol. Another one on my list. I'm sure Giggs gave him the incriminating photos of Fergie he has. Think Nani and Park may have them too

I agree with this somewhat, fergie himself said giggs only turned up for one match in three in his heyday, it'll be less now no doubt

Re: Football Season 2011/12
why didn't they go with someone like Gerrard or Shearer. How many bad games as Gerrard ever had, can't really remember any and Shearer was in the same bracket

Gerrard?! Ugh. Vastly overrated. Scholes and Fabregas were better midfielders than him. Lacked positional awareness and discipline, had a tendency for the glory pass rather than the simple, better options but ran around a lot, shouted a lot and showed 'heart' which compensated for it in the mind of pundits. Lampard was also better.
I tell you who else was better, Alonso.

LOL You must be on a wind up? You cannot remember Steven Gerrard having any bad games?? Try all this season and last apart from 5 or 6.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Alonso leaving is when Liverpool's midfield turned to rubbish, he never got the credit he deserved at Liverpool because he was playing next to Stephen Gerrard who instantly got any credit. Gerrard would get the attention because he was a good player who was English, because he had traits that people view as English (he did work hard, he certainly shouted a lot and looked like he was about to punch someone most of the time) and because he would do the Hollywood pass. The pass that breaks open a defence and looks amazing but rarely comes off and instead gifts possession to the opposing team. Alonso never did that, he was the true Liverpool rival to Fabregas and Scholes. Great vision, great and effective passing, rarely loses the ball and can control a game in the same way the aforementioned players could. Great player.
Alonso is now getting the credit he does deserve as one of the key players at Real Madrid. He really is that good. Him leaving Liverpool has equivalent to Fabregas living Arsenal but Liverpool never had anyone to replace him.
It's criminal he was so overlooked.

Also Ferdinand is out of the England team for Euro 2012. Shame, always liked him. However they are concerned about his injury record.

It's a shame because he is still Englands best defender in my opinion. I suppose it will be Lescott and Terry starting at centre back now.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Was at Harry Greggs testimonial tonight. Was a decent game - took a while to get going. Utd won 4-1 against an Irish League select. Evra, Young x 2 and Rooney the scorers.
Should have been more but Owen and Berbatov were useless in the first half - Owen missing an absolute sitter.
Overall a fitting match for a Utd legend.

Guess maybe I took too much notice of the English player and didn't notice Alonso much.
As we've shown these fan voted polls never seem to mean a lot as the bigger clubs always get more votes due to bigger fan bases
