Depends if he had performance clauses in that contract, but to be fair to him the Torro Rosso this year's been utter tripe compared to the Red Bull.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
sad news that the son of John Surtees died after a crash at Brands Hatch in the Formula 2 race.
Was meant to be at the circuit but had a clashing event. Glad I didn't go as not something I would want to witness.
My thoughts are with his friends and family

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Firstly condolences to the family and friends of Henry Surtees.
I saw the accident on Eurosport, a pure freak accident. Motor racing is dangerous, you know that when you choose to compete, officiate or spectate, however it really shows why wheel tethers are critical to maintaining adequate levels of safety for all involved. A wheel that comes off a racing car is like a bomb waiting to go off. There was a related incident at the 2001 Australian F1 GP when an errant wheel killed a marshall.
The strength of wheel tethers must be improved to avoid this type of accident.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
the problem with this was that although the F2 car as F1 spec wheel tethers they still need to be fixed to part of the car. In this case the part of the car they are attached to ended up breaking away from the car so there isn't much you can do in that case.
Very sad news indeed as came a day after he got his first podium in F2

My condolences go to Henry's family. What a waste of an up and coming talent. He was surely destined for greater things.
RIP Henry Surtees.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
End of first practice in Hungary and Alguersuari is only 2 tenths off Buemi. Pretty good considering his previous F1 experience was limited to straight line aero trials.
McLarens looked quick, would be good to see Lewis back on top, wonder what fuels the Brawns and Red Bull's were running

Q3 is delayed due to Masa crashing out on his last lap in Q2. No reports yet on his condition but it's believed that he was hit by some debris on the helmet.

Heres hoping all will be well. It brought back bad memories of Senna when you said 'debris on the helmet'.

Watching the incident on V+ has it advantages.
replaying the it over again and it is clearly a piece of tube (coke can size at a guess) hitting him.
