Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Felt a bit sorry for my mate today. Went in with the home fans on his "spare" season ticket (after all they're only about 50p a year). I think he wanted to leave at half time, worst I've ever seen Wigan play under Martinez.

Apparently Stan's never sold a single share in one of his sports holdings iirc

Nope. I don't trust these 'group' either, everything makes it sound a bit too good to be true and saying all the things the fans want to here. Massive transfer funds, cheaper tickets, major force in European football and everything else. You're also rolling the dice on these kinds of things. For every Manchester City there is a Portsmouth.
I also really dislike the idea of the club being dependent on outside money. I would love them to come in and give loads of transfer money and cut ticket prices but I don't want the prospect of the wage bill and transfer fees depending on the whims of another group. I want the club to be able to support itself.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Not sure what Tim Paytons up to but hes out in Dubai. i remember him posting he was out there a month or so ago too. may be just a holiday or other business I don't know.
anyway i think ive made my feelings clear on this matter. the current board have no vision, with all due respect to those peoples education they have no brains. how the feck can Utd compete on a wage bill not much bigger than ours? its not all about throwing money. its about having people who KNOW! I want Dein back.
the telegraph have incorrectly worked out figures, the piece say its around 20k a share. i think they need to be a little more accurate with this sort of thing seeing as its a report of a buyout of shares!! it works out around 24k a share = 995,073,811 for Stans shares.
highest trade of a share todate was 16,500 i think. this was last year around this time of the year.
ive become scared of the likes of these 'consortiums'. we've seen a fair few cock ups recently linked to 'consortiums' in footy. id want proof of money in the potential new owners banks not in assets or anything else. hard cash or sod off. The Identity of these people will be interesting...

we'll see. hes out of his depths in England, he'll soon be in the poo if things carry on as they are. forced out!
Usmanov wont sell. i believe that.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
I would not want Usmanov to become sole owner of Arsenal. Do the fans REALLY want a man who has made his money through drugs and money laundering to own the club? I would have to seriously consider stopping supporting them if they allow Usmanov to become sole owner.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Would prefer the middle-eastern group than Usmanov, the way Usmanov has behaved has been disgraceful IMO.
---------- Post added at 08:44 ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 ----------
Actually I wonder if Usmanov is behind this? Spreading fake rumours to destabilise the club further? Sounds rather too good to be true thus far, massive transfer cash, cheap tickets, 'recreate the atmosphere of the North Bank' and so on.

Not questioning Arsenal takeover story but Kroenke has absolutely no intention to sell, is adamant he's here for long-term.
Serious Middle East interest never advertise plans. Qatar/UAE buying together v.unlikely. Long-winded anonymous source out of character.
Takeover experts spoken to all say valuation of £1.5bn is way over the top for Arsenal, especially if no Champions League.
Not saying there isn't interest or bid won't arrive (always possible) but would be rejected. Parts of story unusual & timing suspicious.

Medical reports could see winter Qatar World Cup, says Fifa.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21644726
To be perfectly honest Qatar should have never been awarded the World Cup in the first place.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Well I have been listening to some of the build up for today's game and I think it's best if we just concede before kick-off. Apprantly none, or just Wilshere, would get into a North London XI and Spurs are miles ahead of Arsenal. Bale is, let's admit it, the best footballer these islands have ever produced and, as correctly pointed out, Walcott is nothing but a joke. The defence? Well the fact Spurs have conceded only 32 goals whilst Arsenal have capitulated a shockingly poor 30 goals this season means that they're all right in that none of the Arsenal defence would get anywhere near this Spurs team.
Spurs are better in every position. I am just ashamed that we have to trouble them with our pathetic presence. I can only say sorry in advance.
