As long as it doesn't end up like that V+ update a few years ago that managed to brick a load of V+ boxes the week before Christmas.
I recon it will be November but the second half, not the first.

It will have to be a lot sooner then that only a idiot change manager would allow a mass deployment like that weeks before Christmas. Plus they will want to do that a handful of regions at a time so they don't overwhelm the call centre with support calls.
I would imagine it will start in a few weeks, I don't think any show stopping bugs have been reported on the Community forum.

But it is near enough November now so if its a few weeks then you could be talking about the 4th week of November and that ain't far from the start of December.

That wasn't an update. Someone pressed the wrong button and the boxes were told an update was available when there wasn't. Procedures were put in place to prevent it happening again, and since then the headend systems have been replaced and now work differently anyway.

When i say a few weeks I mean two weeks, otherwise they are just going to cut it far too close to Christmas and most big companies have change freezes that start around mid December.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Virgin Media have released a press release about Spotify now, and it says the Tivo app for it is due in the coming weeks and as the Tivo update is required for the app it work it must mean the update it coming then as well.
So hopefully that means it will be November as otherwise they would have put coming months but you never know with VM.

Reading the article in the link it says in the small print that Spotify will be available to existing XL, XXL and 100MB customers on signing up to a new 12 month contract.
How does that work for those of us who have recently entered a new 12 month contract when taking on Tivo? I presume that the new Spotify contract will just replace the Tivo one, is that correct?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just to clarify,
XL, XXL and 100Mb customers relates to a Broadband contract.
So why should a TiVo contract relate to Spotify? Or have I missed something?

Because Spotify is coming to TiVo, but you'll need a Spotify Premium account to use it - and a Spotify Premium account is available for six months free by recontracting or upgrading to 30, 50 or 100Mbit broadband

One question Ben in that l am on the free Spotify account at the moment so is it best to upgrade to the Premium account now in order to qualify to use the Tivo app in a few weeks or should l wait.
