Re: Football Season 2011/12

Lucky for QPR(and unlucky for Man Utd?) that it was ok for them to lose in stoppage time, because of the Bolton result.

Looks like McLeish has been given the heave-ho from Villa. Just on 5 Live now.

Inevitable from the moment he was appointed as he was never accepted by Villa fans from the start.

Re: Football Season 2011/12

McLeish will walk straight into another job - he has the experience.

Trouble is l thought that club chairman controlled the clubs players and manager, here we go again, fans have won.

McLeish is rubbish. He will walk into another job however.

Yes he was a brilliant striker at his peak.

I don't think that's the case at all - in my opinion, it was best summed up by the banner that stated (and I may well be paraphrasing) 'It's not where you came from; it's where you're taking us'.

The fans may have never wanted him in the first place, but I think that was less to do with the fact that he came from the other side of the city (which was a bad decision by the board anyway), and more to do with the fact that he'd just been relegated.

Couple that with the astonishingly terrible football that he's had us playing all season, and it's a miracle that a) we stayed up, and b) he's kept his job this long. Frankly, any combination of 3 from Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton or QPR deserved to go down purely because they were worse than us!

I'd be surprised if Lambert wanted to come to Villa - he's had a much better season at Norwich
