A friend was considering doing something similar - there's some very good deals on the alt nets round here (Community Fibre 500MbS £23.50) but stuck to VM after negotiating with them. The website price for your package was £37pm and then there were some extra fees for each room so it got a bit pricey in the end.

There is a trend towards standardisation across platforms using HTML5 apps which can be easily modified to suit individual devices. It shouldn't really be too difficult to bring the same apps to the 360 and the V6 but really depends on choices made by Virgin for their devices.
Customers also have a choice and don't have to be corralled towards the 360. Smart TVs within their product support period, Roku devices, Amazon Fire devices etc are more likely to have a much wider range of apps.

It's total shite that they won't add an app onto the V6 box, so much for keeping your customers happy, I'm now seriously considering leaving Virgin.

For the first time in over 25 years when our contract finishes our household is considering those same options

Now that there's very good broadband from VM's competitors, there's no need to stay loyal to one brand. Especially with higher household bills.

Agreed.
Just wish the competition would start installing around here…
Just rx’ed an email from OpenReach - well, when I say "update"…

Absolutely VM need to book up or they'll find themselves losing a lot of customers as the likes of hyperoptic, cityfibre and openreach roll out their fttp services.
Quite a few on cityfibre are offering things like 1000mbs first 3 months free then as little as £35p/m afterwards.
I don't know about openreach fttp as we're a cityfibre area and i have to say Giganet is one of the best isps i have ever been with.
For example this is gigabyte

TNT Sports to launch on July 18th.
A major employee of BT Sport has made a post about it's closure on Linkedin. He said that BT Sport will cease broadcasting on the 17th of July.

Virgin M250 is £33 per month (after six months at £15 for New customer) so is actually cheaper

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)
A few months back i left Virgin Media after 27 years!...I switched to Community Fibre 1Gb for £27 which is amazing. It's the first time i've had an actual alternative to VM for broadband. OpenReach can only get 48Mb to my property with no fibre upgrades in sight.
Although i'm happy on the whole with leaving...i miss the recording functionality on the Tivo Box. Streaming services are great but i've noticed that channel 4's streaming quality is absolute dog poop.
iPlayer has the best streaming quality in my opinion followed by ITVX, then channel 5 and last channel 4.

Cheaper than Gigabyte yes but there are other options on the Cirtfibre network too.
Not to mention with VMS network you're restricted to just one provider and VMS upload speeds are appaulling.
VM is £50p/m for 250mbs after 18 months.

Equalivalent on vm would set me back £85p/m that's without paramount+ and discovery+ aswell as a 18 months contract.

Perhaps I should have clarified that I was comparing Sky Q against Virgin’s offering (not including Virgin Stream).

Older boxes don’t always cope with the newer technology too well. If this impacts on performance, it makes Virgin look bad. So they either have to force you to change or they will deny that streamer to your box.

Can't really compare virgin stream with sky stream as one is only available to vms broadband customers and the other is available to anyone with decent speeds.
