To be fair it is still late March.
Now if they don't get it out today then that's a fail in my book.

Re: TiVo
The email will probably just say something like:
"Thanks for your interest in our revolutionary new Tivo system. We are currently putting together the final touches and will be in touch soon, when you can order it online."
Basically, pre-register customers will get access to the online order the same day as general release.
Rather annoying, but to be expected really. We interpreted pre-registration as an early access programme, but in reality, it was just a bit of cleverly designed market research.
However, we'll wait and see!

I think you spot on with the content of the email but we will get it before general release, VM couldn't cope with releasing it all at once, They need to stagger it.

Re: TiVo
Yes getting 50,000 orders in 1 day may take some time to fullfill! But the ability to place an order and know you are in the delivery pipeline will be a step forward. I think I read another post saying the latest VM magazine states the 4th April for general launch for any customer to order Tivo, so surely they need to give pre registered customers first access to place orders unless we are given some form of order code with the email we should receive today.

What I think will happen is we get a "we haven't forgotten you" email today followed by the "order now" email on 4th April and then the rest of VM's current customers will get the same email a week or two later. Like DF said it's been pushed back a few days.

Yes but what VM actually said in February was:
"We’ll be in touch around the end of March to let you know how you can get the TiVo service before it goes on general sale. For now, you can sit back, relax and wait for all the good stuff to come to you."
IF the general launch is REALLY 4th April (was this confirmed by VM, or just another rumour?), then there must presumably be some way of giving preference within the normal ordering process. It would be grossly unfair to expect 50,000 people to put in their orders in just the 2 or 3 days between now and the 4th, even if VM's systems could cope - what if you are on holiday, system down, don't have access to email, etc etc?
Personally I think that the whole thing has slipped, and the email if we get one will just be another 'holding' exercise.

Hello Ben, just seen your reply to Andrews question, are you 100% sure that its not possible to record onto a DVD like you can from a V+, because if thats right i wont bother with Tivo as i will never be able to copy to DVD, so Tivo will be a waste of time for me.

Understand what your saying matey,But there should be a option to tick for it to record suggested programs in hd if available.Ive turned suggestions of because all i seem to do is delete,That is annoying because its part of what tivo is about and would really like to use it.So to me its a bug that really should be sorted,I really hope they do something about it
I record 98 % hd programmes on my box,Would have thought tivo would notice this in the same way it notices what programs i like and record hd versions

You can still copy to DVD. You just can't watch something else at the same time.
