Why rest players? Is a week not enough of a rest?

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
A full-strength side would have beaten Liverpool today but why risk that result (and possible injuries) in a game that won't make much of a difference to the season?

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
a win for Swansea today would have put you on 40pts. Do League Cup winners go into the Europa league?

they go into UEFA Europa League Third Qualifying Round
If the League Cup winners have already qualified for Europe by a high Premier League finish, then the next highest-finishing Premier League club gets this place
i had to look it up

First time we've been to any major final? That means more than beating Liverpool. Our place in the Premiership is secured, we're not going down.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
I always think its a risk resting players for a final, it will be 2 weeks since they last played and any good form they had will possibly be gone. If a player is playing well keep on playing him, theres no need to rest him.

I agree Shadow. Plus now Swansea could get fined for fielding a weakened side.
Russ I don't agree with your take on the Prem. Swansea should be aiming as high as possible. A win today would have put you on 40pts. 2 pts behind Everton.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Swansea won't get higher than mid-table now. On current form I can't see us anywhere near the relegation zone. So why risk injuries to key players in games that won't really change our season? Trust me on this, next week's final means more to Swansea than dropping 3 points to opposition that we've beaten bigger sides than.
