Re: Football Season 2012/2013
as much as i like Ian because he does speak out, stupid or genius but what hes on about here is nonsense and stupid. Fergie changed his plans vs Everton late on due to City being defeated at Southampton or he would have put out a second string so the others are fresh for Real Madrid. the squad put out was strong enough minus Gervinho...
Szczesny,
Coquelin, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal,
Diaby, Rosicky, Arteta,
Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain,
Giroud
thats not a bad line up

Barca were doing an Arsenal first half btw. SS1

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
What are the odds of Wenger being out of a job by May? I think he's been good for the club, but today was a joke. Time for someone who is willing to spend money on new players to come in.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
I think now its a case of looking deeper than Wenger Mark. I'm actually coming round to supporting him, he does need to change methods in training and deploying the squad but the board are an issue too. Tim Payton tweeted this half hour ago..
I reckon its time the dinosaur Peter Hill-Wood left and Stan too allowing Usmanov and The Deins in. The Russian, the Deins and Wenger would form a deadly team imo.

Just got back in from the game, I was the winning bidder in an auction for our local hospice. Two tickets inc hospitality. Free parking, 3 course meal, other goodies and two seats in the main stand, great game, fantastic atmosphere. Plenty of Everton supporters sat behind us, good banter, no trouble at all.
The last minute equaliser was the icing on the cake, need to kick on in the league now.

Paul Ince set to be named Blackpool manager on Monday.

His team talks to his son should be interesting.

And replace him with who? I think it's quite clear that the lack of spending is from the board. Wenger has previously spent money on players, like Arshavin, when the team was much better that the team we have today. Why would he suddenly stop spending when the team isn't as good and there is more money in the bank? Why did the type of players we go for change after the club was taken over. I don't believe the board when they say he has money to spend because I don't believe he suddenly become more resistant to spending than ever just now.
Maybe he does have money to spend but he doesn't get to decide how much. So when he wants Villa the board can't get it done.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
l am sure if Wenger does go and thats a big if there will be quite a queue of fine European managers who would love to get their opportunity to sit in the Arsenal hot seat to see if they can do better.

You will get a queue, but who would you want?
Any job is going to have suitors, it is a buyers market for most.

Depends on the circumstances of the offer. If all the money is there and Wenger has simply decided to stop spending it then maybe it wouldn't be hard to find a top-class manager who would. I don't think the issue is at his level however.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
I heard the same about Guardiola. The presumption that a manager would go to an english club . (read all the speculation in this thread)
Nothing wrong with wishing, but not convinced he would choose Arsenal, wholly depends on what other clubs want him at the time.
