"New Arsenal signing Kim Kallstom is set for a spell on the sidelines with a back injury that was discovered in the medical before he signed on loan from Spartak Moscow.
"The 31-year-old Sweden midfielder sustained the problem on Tuesday while playing football on a beach during Spartak's pre-season tour in Abu Dhabi.
"He informed Arsenal of discomfort upon arriving at the club on Friday but, despite an MRI scan showing no damage, a CT scan found an issue with his back.
"The Arsenal medical team provided manager Arsene Wenger with the prognosis, but it was decided Kallstrom would still join and undergo his rehabilitation with the Gunners.
"He is expected to miss at least Arsenal's next six games, in which they face Crystal Palace, Liverpool twice, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Sunderland.

The curse of bad decisions
I don't get why they did it, and I think it is silly decision.

He needs to take his small-club mentality back to Everton.

I have to agree. Not been too impressed so far, and I don't agree with his decision about RVP saying when he plays. I would think it should be medical staff, manager and player.

If this problem appeared in the medical and Arsenal have marked it as the player being out for a lengthy period then it doesn't help at all. I understand the guy being brought in to cover right away with the condition of the squad, injuries and suspensions but to rely on him further down the line ? Wasn't there other midfielders available ?
I don't understand anymore. I still don't understand why Arsenal didn't have a solid agreement with Real Madrid for Higuain. The Italians printed pictures of Juves officials with RM officials along with the headline 'Juve can't afford to pay 25m£ cash'. Its disgusting, Arsenal have all this money which they wont spend but then will they throw it away on useless crap. Do remember Arsenal fans have to pay for a fair bit of this, its not like we're being treated by a 'sugar daddy'.
Arsenal should have gone in bold in the summer just like Tim Payton/AST was saying. 100m spend. Ozil and Cavani. Can you imagine this Arsenal side with Cavani in it ?

They did buy Ozil for over £40 million.....
Isn't football manager. They have to want to come.

Anyway. Time for Arsenal to capitalise on what could be a good weekend for us! Spurs, United have dropped points so far. One of City or Chelsea will.

No matter the result, it won't be decided. Even if Arsenal lose too.

Well my beloved still have a minuscule chance of 4th spot and a win tomorrow against WBA would be nice and dandy.

Some sort of inferior sport to football happening on BBC right now. It's like football but for people who want to run with the ball....

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Looks like D-Day for FFP will come soon than we thought:
http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/...Fair-Play.html
Quote:
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool could use UEFA small print to challenge Manchester City’s right to play in the Champions League next season.
The rules now effectively set up a scenario where rivals can claim City have cheated their way to passing UEFA’s ‘Financial Fair Play’ (FFP) test.
It is understood lawyers for a host of ‘major clubs’ are aware of these potential rights to make appeals — thanks to recently amended Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations — and are monitoring the situation closely.
|
As I said before it does seem City will be where the test comes. Chelsea have been making a clear effort to bring themselves under the line, the Mata sale shows that too, the other clubs are fine but City are the ones pushing it.
I think it's going to fail and Chelsea, City, PSG will go into a nuclear arms race of contracts and transfer fees.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Oh here we go. Boo-hoo. FIFA/UEFA want to see the game grow and will do everything to have a balanced view. UEFA done sod all about Man City being bank rolled by 'third party' which is Man Citys owner. PSG got a little slap. Monaco have been warned. So long as the money is sustainable, by any means shall I add, UEFA will do sod all! Every other team can moan all they like. The real sanctions will only come into play when the extremes come to light and thats money drying up.
