Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
I wish that ITV had a similar thing to the BBC's red button service on ntl, where you can turn off the commentators and listen to the match sound. Clive Tydlesley is doing my head in!!!
He is just talking pure cliched crap. I'd rather listen to David Pleat drone on than him.
Good timing that from the Italians...

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
i laughed at the goal, but only cos pleat said 90 minutes ago - "i wonder what odds you'll get on a fullback to score the first goal"
you see folks, this is how football should be played
right now i bet oliver kahn is thinking "i could've saved that"

Crikey, what a two minute spell for Italy, somehow I could see Del Piero scoring when he came on

To true, in many ways it was a shame that there had to be a loser, still that match deserved better than penalties, lets hope the next semi is as good

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
How many different pronunciations of Camoranesi was there? Also why did we need to be told every 10 minutes that Perrotta was born in Aston-Under-Lyne?
Anyway, great game. Hopefully tomorrows will be just as good.

Must be his relatives that have set the fireworks off round here, it's almost like being in Basra

Well, you got this one right. On balance of the chances created, the best team won. And what a way to do it. Score two against Germany in the dying minutes.
Cracking game...

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
this was so far the best game of the WC.
For chances created Italy deserved to win, however Germany gave it their all.
when the italian coach threw on DelPeiro, he knew he did not want it to go to penalities.
this was a better game that the Argentina gamewhen they won 6-0

i think(forgive my negativity here) that while one semi showed how to play football, the other semi might show us all how to dive

yes i'm sure Viera will be doing some
thank God this is on the BBC and we don't have to put up with David Pleat.. how on earth can ITV employ him when he knows nothing.. comes out with a load of rubbish and can't even pronounce the player's names correctly

Mind you, he's still better than Tyldesley!
Anyway, I think I'll have to revise my predictions - whule I think France will win tonight, if Italy play the way they did last night in the final, they're an absolute shoe-in to win.

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
Did Tyldesley last night really say "My Brain Hurts" in a dumb sounding voice or did I imagine it?

Well, I think you imagined it - does Clive Tyldesley have a brain?

Nope, I heard it as well. I don't know if it was him though. It may have been someone else who didn't realise he was speaking into an open mic.
