Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
I guess this has been discussed in other places but what is 1gig a day as a rough guide? What about online games like Counterstrike, how much would that use an hour?

I checked this morning, rebooted my STB and I'm still on 750k.
I called CS and said could I get a Samsung STB so I could get 2Mb. The lady said she'd add my name to the list and someone would call me next week.
I then asked about getting 1Mb whilst I was waiting for a Samsung box and she said she would have to downgrade my account for me to get 1Mb so I said I'd leave well alone for now.
Is this correct?
|
Yes, it is. 1meg was effectively 300k, which means you'd be changing tier, and then wouldn't be able to change back to your old tier (750-2meg) for 30 days.

does anyone know if the speeds will be updated automatically by NTL in the near future or will all users have to upgrade online via the link?

Unless you have a)300k or b)A pace stb you should be upgrade automatically at some point.

Hi and to the madhouse, er, Cableforum.
Everything you do on the internet involves uploads. Click on a link and it has to upload the fact that you want it. Download a large file and it has to continually upload a signal that it has got the last packet of it correctly.
