Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
I never mentioned the Boro. Dont know where you get the impression I did? I`m a bit further North.
Just to add - Teeside is a metropolitan area of which both Stockton and Middlesboro are part.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Stockton and Middlesbrough are NOT a part of Teeside, for one good reason Teesside doesn't egzist, Show me Teesside on a Ordnance Survey map, you can't because Teesside doesn't egzist.
I didn't say that you were from Middlesbrough, but I am guessing that you are from Redcar! If yes I believe that Redcar has bean upgraded to 10Mb
P.S.
If you are in Area reference: 30 it has bean upgraded to 10Mb
Look on your Bill for the Area that you are in!
"O" You may need a new Cable Modem from NTL
Good Look with your upgrade to 10Mb

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
tdadyslexia full area upgrades are not done based on the area code on your bill, they are not even done in full based on a particular hubsite on the network. Those who register for early upgrade appear to be upgraded as and when the codes are applied to their accounts, the all customer uplifts will happen as and when VM decide but certainly won't be done by entire franchise area at once so what's on your bill and which county you are in are a non-issue. Hubsites are usually all done at once but it depends on the size of the hubsite and how many CMTS are in it.

Hi Gulf4, I just got off the phone from VM, they tell me the whole GU area will be complete by 1st June - I do hope their right The UK call centre I spoke too, took the time to talk to the tech guys (I was on hold a while) to get the latest estimate.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Just had the most confusing of telephone calls with Customer Services (UK based). They said that nobody gets the 10Mb upgrade until October??? If you register now, you get updated in October I was told by an agent. If you don't register they won't upgrade you from 2Mb to 10Mb was the gist of her explanation. She then said I can change you to 10Mb now and it will work out 50p cheaper than what you are currently paying.
I mentioned this forum and that some of you guys had this 10Mb already-are you sure you did nothing?

The agent you spoke to is wrong - just look at the forums (avforums, digitalspy etc.) and you'll see there have been lots of folk already upgraded.
My understanding (and confirmed in call to VM this morning) is that if you register you will get the 2 to 10 upgrade as soon as your area has been upgraded. However, if you don't register, then everyone on 2Mb M package will automatically be upgraded in October.
If you were offered 10Mb now for 50p cheaper than your currently paying, then why not go for it! I can't take that option because I would lose part of the large 'loyalty discount' I currently have, which means it would cost me more to go to 10Mb L.

Hi Tony, Yes everyone (almost) can already get 10Mb if required (in theory). But to move all the 2Mb M customers onto 10Mb will cripple the network, that's why this upgrade is linked to the 50Mb upgrades that are currently underway - Then some of the 10Mb L & 20Mb customers can move onto (share) the DOCSIS 3 network, leaving room for the 10Mb M customers on the existing network. Hope that makes sense! Basically (according to experts in this forum) in areas that have had the 50Mb network upgrade there will be much more network capacity for the 2Mb M customers to be upgraded to 10Mb M. Hopefully soon for us...
Brian
