Amazing how you can get different responses on different days: I rang them again this morning and they said they didn't know what the SMS problem was but that they would upgrade me there and then. I was told reboot the computer (not the modem interestingly) and it would be at the new speed - and it is! Wahoo.

If you go to user options under options you can stop the emails being sent.

Really glad to see things are moving for many people. Any NTL'er here know if the upgrade actually happened in SO22 (Winchester and surrounding area) or not. CS guy couldn't tell me, but thought not because of the network outage.

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
I've been abroad and so today was my first chance to check if I had been upgraded.
I'm a 750k'er with a Pace STB and I thought that I would be automatically upgraded to 1Mb.
I checked this morning, rebooted my STB and I'm still on 750k.
I called CS and said could I get a Samsung STB so I could get 2Mb. The lady said she'd add my name to the list and someone would call me next week.
I then asked about getting 1Mb whilst I was waiting for a Samsung box and she said she would have to downgrade my account for me to get 1Mb so I said I'd leave well alone for now.
Is this correct?

Hi all, new member here,
Just upgraded to 3mb in St Ives, Cambs with no probs at all, will give it a go if i dont use it so much i will downgrade to 2mb next month, one question is the 1gb cap just for downloads or for uploads as well dont do any uploading as such but on netmeter which i have installed my upload amount does go up even though im not physically uploading anything on purpose, thanks in advance

Welcome to the site
I wouldn't worry too much about uploading at the moment. At the moment you're allowance if you like is just the same.
