There’s a reason I said earlier that I didn’t think they had much of a future. You summed up why I think that very nicely.

For films though, it's utterly useless/pointless, e.g. I'll watch the final half hour now and maybe try and catch the first hour when it comes back round, if I can time it right, and knew the non existent epg !

 | All Sunday matches will be live so I'd imagine they'll use Extra for some of those.

For thr first three weeks there are two live games at 2pm and only one at other times.
So Sky Sports Main Event or Sky Sports + could carry the second.

 | thats a bit odd i'd have thought sky would have forced the second match to be at a ridiculous time late on sunday without a care in the world for people working the next day....

thats what they usually do...

It is too much to expect overpaid athletes to play on a Monday night and another game either on the Saturday (two days before) or Wednesday (two clays after).
Once there are the midweek cop games happening - Leasue Cup and Europe - fixtures are hard to arrange on a Monday. You only left with a handful of clubs available and the fans of those will not want lots on Monday nights.

It is only in the lower leagues where players also have full time jobs where you are expected to play 2x90 minute games in three days (sometimes two days).

It is said players play too many games - but with a 26-man squad then over playing players is down to the clubs - not the fixtures.

What about the fans that actually go to games? Sunday KO can be awkward enough but Monday night?

It’s been a long time since fans going to matches was of more importance than the money from TV rights and betting.
