You can't judge Managers against each other without using their past as evidence to judge them on. How else would you decide who is best?
In that case, we will have to see how this season pans out.
But even, for eg. Pellegrini who many abroad say is a great coach, if he wins it this year will never be recognised because people will say he had the money. How much is it the money and how much the coach?
Mancini was snubbed for manager of the year last season in favour of Pardew.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I think your mistaken of what we're talking about. The comments are about the best manager in the league right now not of all time.
btw I've always said Pellegrini is a great and I'm not abroad
How did Mancini deserve manager of the year 2011/2012 lol he gave up at the end, it was the medias push that fired City up, the backlash of Mancini saying the titles gone, Mancinis not celebrating until it become clear City could actually do it etc etc. what a joke.
Pardew deserved the award on limited resources. Look up how much Newcastles wage spend was 11/12 and how much they spent on transfers.

Mancini played "mind games" or gave up depending on which way you spin it. I firmly believe he never "gave up".
Newcastle spent £25m on transfer fees and their wage bill was £64.1m as a result of these aquisitions which is only behind City, Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Aston Villa.
Therefore, it would be sensible to argue Newcastle over performed by finishing 1 point ahead of Chelsea. But in the same breath, Chelsea and more so Liverpool significantly underperformed in the league to the extent where Newcastle finished about where they should.
What can be said without doubt is that this seasons 16th place just 5 points above the relegation zone was a disgraceful underachievement.

And for that any other manager would have received his P45.

it would be sensible to stick to one debate rather than jump to another, or another year for that matter Mancini wasn't ignored of the manager of the year award 11/12, he missed out for very good reasons. Not many people buy into the mind games front, it really did look like he gave up.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I've never rated him as a manager but i do feel sorry for him. Unlike other countries at the tournament there are a fair few U21 players not there for England because they have been involved with the main squad and/or injured. Obviously they are the 'better' players as well, because they have been called up to the main squad.

Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw, Jack Rodwell, Phil Jones, Raheem Sterling, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere are all eligible and not there.

Alas there are others on here who would be perfectly cast for the role of Victor Meldrew.
