Re: 50Mb areas
Yes
BB XXL is £35 after discounts + £11 phoneline = £46
BB XL is £20 after discounts + £11 phoneline = £31

Re: 50Mb areas
I wish I was getting XL+phone line for £31. I'll probably worry about it more when I can upgrade to 50Mbit though.

Not much use for it if you don't pirate, but as has been mentioned upwards of 10 times in this thread the people who might know aren't going to talk so rather pointless asking.

Re: 50Mb areas
Had my 50 mb installed since Saturday. Consistently getting speeds, through Ethernet, of 45 to 55 mb.
Wireless speeds vary because I got 2 crappy old laptops. Even after I tweaked TCP and updated the wireless adaptor firmware, at the virgin update page, I don't get more than 15 mb. However my wife's new lappy gets 35 mb on low signal elsewhere in the house.
How are others managing with the wireless connection?
By the way I am paying £10 extra a month for the upgrade, because I was already VIP. I was also charged £30 for the router. My bill shows no installation charge.
I spoke to VM when they rang me to see how the installation went. I told them that the installer was useless. Fortunately I had installed the router myself, but he hadn't a clue how to configure it for the new modem. I also had to tell him the best sites for testing speed! The call centre explained that VM are having trouble training enough people to get the 50 mb roll out moving. Often an area has been converted but they haven't let the area go 50 mb because they haven't enough installers to do the work.
