Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
Does anyone have any idea why Sky Sports News HD and Sky News HD is not on Virgin Media because they are both basic Sky HD channels and Virgin Media have rights to any Sky basic HD channels for a incremental wholesale fee.
I would like to see Sky Sports News HD.
I can only guess Sky are asking too high a incremental wholesale fee

There are suggestions on other forums that SKY might be considering allowing their customers to use other ISP's to deliver SKY Anytime, especially with Anytime arriving on Virgin Media. Do you think Virgin could get access to SKY Atlantic HD, SKY Sports 3 & 4 HD, SKY Sports News HD and SKY News HD if they offer SKY a preferential deal to offer broadband to their customers? The deal would be similar as to how SKY channels are delivered to Virgin customers. Virgin customers are not SKY customers, it's Virgin themselves who are the customer of SKY. So SKY customers taking Virgin broadband via SKY, would still be getting the service from SKY but SKY would be the customer of Virgin. Does this make sense?

That could happen.

To be honest i would not class 7 HD channels launching this year as a 'HD Shopping Spree'.
With 2 that were already announced coming anyway ( Sky Arts 1 HD and Sky Arts 2 HD)
Not unless we get a flood of HD channels in December. Which i highly doubt it.
|
I do wonder whether this is still true and could happen in December ?
anything is possible.
As said Virgin Media are on track to have 80 HD channels in 2 years.

I'm not upset about it, to be fair when the football rights where split, it was more like there was a lot more games being shown live so fair enough alot more games equal maybe another broadcaster, and fair do's to virgin they sorted us out. My point is that $ky continually move the goal posts for no reason, they have sports channels coming out of their ears and could quite easily of fitted all of what they wanted to do with F1 into their existing setup. Personally i'd rather watch paint dry, since about 92, 93 the regulations have stifled the sport, its the reason the Americans can't take to it because most races are like a procession.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
The ignore function is rubbish, mate. You can still see when someone you ignore has posted and the compulsion to click the "view this post" is too much making it pretty pointless.
I suppose the best course of action would be to ban the troublemaker. Permanently.

I totally respect what you are saying Lew, I have a few people on my ignore list. The only problem being if someone else on the forum quotes a post from the person on the ignore list you're then able to read it. It totally defeats the purpose of adding someone to the ignore list. There has to be a better or alternative solution.

Without looking through the f1 season schedule i would be surprised it they could have.
On a Sun afternoon, at any one time you could have Prem league, football league, rugby, cricket, tennis, golf.... God knows what else showing.
They could have made a tennis, golf, rugby etc channel instead. But suppose F1 is where the money is....

I bet Sky Sports will do a Prem league, football league, rugby, cricket, tennis, golf channel in the future, they might follow Sky Movies by organsing their channel by catagories, not numbers

Yes there is.It's called self control and leads to one being able to either leave a thread or just not 'pay any attention' to a certain poster.I've got it down to a fine art with some members.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. III.
The mods need to get themselves together and sort this out privately and then come back to us with a solution. Half of them are having a go at hd boy for repeating himself and posting pointless tweets, the other half are deleting posts made by forum members which make the same point.
You, as a team, either want him to stop the way he posts OR you want other members to just ignore him, but you can't have both. Every time a mod tells him off it undermines the mod who defends his right to post and suggests we use the ignore function.
