Newcastle will only go after another striker if Cisse moves to either of the three Turkish clubs that have made enquiries in the next 24 hours.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
But they need another proven striker who is proven at the highest level IMHO.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
The trouble is MU are paying for years of underinvestment in their squad especially in signing world class talent which can make a difference.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
If they had £36 million to spend on a young striker then it had to be Mauro Icardi.. the guy is sublime.

Thats good for a player in the last year of their contract but it should never have got to that situation. Since Fergie left our transfer activity has been an embarrassment.
According to Guillem Balague, De Geas people have said that United offered a new contract last year but LVG stopped it because he prefered Navas....seems crazy!

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
LVG is not the man for United. I think his arrogance will turn us in to Liverpool from the 90s.
SAF was arrogant and stubborn but he created United around it but I worry LVG's attitude will ruin us.

From the BBC link...
Quote:
The deal is yet to be completed but it will also involve a cash payment from the Spanish giants, taking the overall value to 40m euros (£29m).

correct me if I'm wrong does that not mean the players value has also been included in this 'overall value' ?

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
I think it works out as 25m euros for De Gea and Navas is valued at 15m euros so equals 40m in total.
