Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Also when the IPad buddy App comes out the TiVo can be connected to your home network via router/superhub for this. Or to use things like Zeebox on Ipad now.

Yes so it may appear, but not being an expert in that branch of the law it might be the BBC had no choice but to protect their property in this instance so they could jump on other, possibly more serious, infractions at some point in the future.

Yes,, Grim. As petty as it may seem to the casual observer, I think you're right.

Don't know if it's so much about protecting their property as allowing themselves to be seen to endorse a particular product.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Over the years I have been taught that the only opinion in life that matters is that of my wife and daughter. Nearly 3 weeks in and they have informed me they hate Tivo.

Clunky record, layout of on demand, no reminders, awkward to navigate seems to be their main beef. Can see their point tbh. Still got HD box in daughters room though

Well the only one that l can agree with you is the lack of reminders at present and they are coming.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Having used Tivo for well over 6 months, I am afraid I agree with the wife and daughter of Henkesghost. Promoted as the way to watch TV in the future, Tivo does not even have real time updated programme guide!! Absolutely unbelievable. Apparently, it is to come, but not soon. The mind boggles how long the wait will be.
In my opinion, VM should have put a larger hard drive into the V+ and further developed that as it is much easier to use and has several features still lacking in Tivo.
If you are the type of person that likes putting thumbs up and down by programmes (what happens if a brother and sister do opposites?) and wants things to record that you did not ask for and don't mind when episodes for what you DID ask for are suddenly deleted because you did not manually set it not to delete (why does it do that?) then Tivo is definitely for you.
Many of us just want an easy to use, reliable recorder with the mininimum of button presses.
