Good to see someone with a bit of inside info with some balls to give us the info. Thank you. I hate all these smug wink wink muppets who say 'coming soon' and try and keep the rest of us paying customers in the dark! So once again, thank you.

I can quite understand any NTL staff who have signed a non-disclosure statement not wanting to lose their jobs by giving out the info. Just because they don't doesn't make them smug it means that they are realists. As much as I would like to know what is going on I wouldn't want anyone to lose their job.

I'm sorry, last time I checked I signed an agreement as did every employee at ntl to keep inside company information confidential until it was deemed releasable to the public.

Assuming you work for a company do you release details of projects in progress to all and sundry? If you do I am surprised you are still employed.

Projects can slip in schedule, things can go wrong, which means paying customers get more and more upset.

I like to give as much information as possible, and have known various details about this project and loads of others. Do I blab on here? No, simple reason that if things go wrong you lot end up getting more and more po'd. Oh and the minor reason that I like to keep my job.

Still I'm a muppet so won't be missed anyway I guess.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please

Garyparson, the only muppets that I can see are the ones that don't think before they post and end up upsetting the few NTL staff who help us all out on here with our problems. Maybe there are a few other muppets too but their behaviour can be more comical than offensive. People like Bill C, Ignition and others are essential to this site and should not be subject to derisive remarks. They have a job to do and rules to work to and they should be respected for this and applauded for the extra effort they put in by coming on here in their own time and helping all the customers that they do. They do not have to come on here and help but they are quite happy to do so. I think an apology is in order and a change of attitude essential.

Lol. Ntl staff are sooooo defensive. It was a flippant remark, calm down and take it with a pinch of salt. You'll get about 50 posts now telling you how great you are and how everyone is so grateful for your help anyway, you don't have to milk it by being a drama queen. :p

Based on garyparson's previous posts, I doubt it was flippant at all.

what is the harm in giving credit where it is due?

unfortunately there are a small number of people who post on this site, who have had long standing problems with their NTL product/s.

while I sympathise with their frustration, often they persist in taking every opportunity to snipe and sneer, without any consideration for the feelings of the NTL associates who do take the trouble to try & help on here.

I am quite sure that if there was a solution to the long term problems that persist in some areas, that was in the power of our members who work for NTL to fix, it would have happened.

- we should not, however, forget the large number of faults/problems that have been sorted by these people and don't understand why expressing gratitude for that should be considered a bad thing

So you think that was what this is about. Well i for one am not intersested in how good or bad i am. I am here to try and fix problems i am not here to be called a Monkey or Muppet to name but a few. So if you think this was so i can be a drama queen it was not. But that is sorted i will not be about to be called monkey or muppet. so enjoy you won this one.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please

while i would like it if more info was avalable i do understand that NTL staff just like staff of many other companies are under NDA and therefore cannot go around posting information that they may know.

Otherwise they could find themselves being sacked or even worse in court.

and as for the NTL staff who come here and help people out in their spare time, i have nothing to say to them but a very big THANKYOU! and that i hope there are lots more people like you guys/girls in ntl...

now can we please try to get back on topic.

Really? Interesting considering that it was still undecided as of Wednesday last week, so I'll continue to not listen thanks.

Interesting your insider is still yet to provide you with information on:

It does not say anywhere what will happen if you go over your monthly allowance depending on service your subscribed too when it comes into effect - just as with current 1gig a day guidelines contracts, so at present i would say its a guideline.
Now a peon like me way, way, way down in the company knows this, surely your contacts who apparently know what director level staff and executive boards are doing before they do can answer this one.

Re: [Merged] *ALL* Speed Upgrade Discussion In Here Please

Bill, Ig - don't feed the troll.

One very good reason for people like me not to post is that our information is second or third hand - I'm not involved in the key Tornado decisions and neither are the other two, hence anything we would post wouldn't necessarily be accurate, as projects and timescales change over time. Frankly it would erode any credibility we have on here if we constantly posted information that turned out to be wrong, as well as jeopardising our future employment. Best to stick to what we can directly verify and help people as best we can.
