I believe that's something that has been fed back to TiVo, it's quite a pain.

The number of shows that have no bearing on my tastes that have been recorded for me is very annoying, so I have turned suggestions off. Not one of Tivo's better features IMHO.

Have you been thumbing away?
Most of the suggestions I get are spot on... you need to keep rating your shows.

Personal taste, but it may open your eyes if you watch, to something that you may have read the reviews about and thought OHH that looks boring?

wow - it records suggestions? I thought it just made suggestions of shows you might want to watch. No wonder you need 1TB. My Samsung V+ is winning the what I need stakes by a country mile right now.

Re: TiVo
No call, Will just wait until I finish college, Money is getting hard now for me so would be stupid to purchase a TiVO box right now.
And maybe when I have finished college in June the TiVO boxes might be on special offer or something.
So I will happily wait.

Re: TiVo
This is of concern if true

Spoke to them today. They said they're nowhere near a launch (maybe end of next month?), staff haven't been trained yet, no idea of pricing at this stage and existing customers will be given preference anyway. So, despite all the messages on my old TiVo telling me to enquire now at virginmedia.com/tivoupgrade (which I already have), there's actually no point. My past experiences with virgin haven't been good ones anyway.

It's like I've said what's groundbreaking about suggestions its not rocket science if you like say Casualty you may like Holby City , ER, Greys Anatomy etc , plus who wants it to record programs you don't want.

That's a very simplistic view that isn't true.
It goes much deeper than that and actually choses programmes that may appeal to you based on your personal viewing habits and ratings.
You can switch that function off if it doesn't interest you.

Yes it records suggestions, using any free space you have. It then deletes them if needed so you can record Series Links and requested recordings.

But DF there are quite a few on the forums stating suggestions are hopeless and if thats a simplistic view how come someone on here stated they'd recorded come dine with me and kept getting cookery programs suggested.

That's because they aren't rating enough programmes as they watch.
If it's not for you, then you can disable suggestions in the menu. I was open minded about them and rated programmes and it now is pretty much spot on with suggestions.
