Surely that would only be in upgraded areas. Which are they?

Seems my profile has been upgraded today as well. Can't check as not directly connected to the SH2.

So as from today, new customers and customers upgrading can get the increase?
Yet I have to wait till June/August? How is this even fair?

Re: Virgin Media 150Mb Coming 2014
You can call up and get it done now. I just called them and she could have done it there and then but it would have meant being re-contracted, whereas if you wait for it to be done automatically it doesn't.
The button to "order now" on the MyVirginMedia page doesn't mention a contract, i forgot to ask her about that part.

Re: Virgin Media 150Mb Coming 2014
My original date not long ago was between March 2014 and March 2014.
Now I get the email and click through and it has changed to April 2014 and June 2014.
My contract expires in May so I am going to re-evaluate everything now Infinity has arrived. I know they not be as quick as I get with Virgin but to be honest the 120Mb I am on now is faster than I need really it's just it's part of the package and if I start trying to lower it the price actually goes up!

This is not true.
I am currently on 120Mbit and rang to ask for the upgrade and i have been told no as it is not available in your area yet.

I've pushed the button and placed the order. Should be complete in 48 hours. No mention of a re-contract.

Think you'll find you've just enterd a new contract - you might be sent the small print in retrospect - good old VM....

Re: Virgin Media 150Mb Coming 2014
My area isn't due to be upgraded until August 2014 to January 2015.
I was able to get the upgrade through retentions:
I also agreed to a new 12 month contract, but I believe this was because they also gave me an 18-month loyalty discount of £8.

Not sure what you mean but we already had a free 'boost' from 10mb to 20mb last year. This is the first we've heard about the new free increase from 20mb to 50mb.

Nope, at least from what was told on the phone earlier upgrading you manually to 152mb puts you in a new contract itself.
