Not as good as last season no. However they are good and there are two of them, we were too dependent on Van Persie last season, and now they can share the load. I still think he need one more striker to replace RVP but we'll see.

And they take the cowards way out by getting their agents to speak on their behalf most of the time.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Bizarre rumours of Arsenal going after lloris. Now a couple of years ago I would have been all for that but surely we're not going to have Scezesney and Lloris....

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
For the first time ever I'd be jealous of Arsenal if they get Lloris. I've been a massive fan of his for years and always wished United would have brought him in. In the right team I reckon he could be the next Schmeichel.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Arsenal simply won't. It's a nonsense. We're not going to pay £15 million or so for another 1st choice keeper, we'ld have to sell Scezesney since he won't want to sit on the bench....

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
The rumour only exists because the club have said he can leave to a big club if they receive an offer of €20m. I guess for journalists Wenger is top of the list if a French player in France is being sold.

Would prefer him in a United shirt, although United are a team we could actually compete with so maybe it's better he goes and joins the Man City Dream Team Project.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Usmanov criticises Arsenal board:
Quote:
"In our view it is clear you are trying to distract attention from the more fundamental issues facing the club," he writes. "These are the financial model, the lack of investment and club's future strategic direction."
The letter suggests the "real conflict is between the supporters' expectations and your visions for the club".
"Mr Kroenke was sold a vision by the board at a time when the club could be successful without further investment," it reads.
"As a consequence of this policy, which is dressed up as prudent financial planning, it is down to our manager and not the shareholders, to have to deal with the club's tight finances, carry the burden of repaying the stadium debt by selling his best players and having to continue to find cheaper replacements.
"This policy is leading to the loss of our best players, often to main competitors, and even causes the players themselves to question their future at the club and the club's ambitions.
"The situation with Robin van Persie sums this up."

Not according to Usmanov, he is placing the blaming squarely on the board and say they are inhibiting Wenger who he calls 'our great manager'. I don't we know exactly the extent to which Wenger controls the budget and transfer in the club, it's all a bit smoke and mirrors. It seems people blame Wenger if they want to blame Wenger or blame the board if they want to blame the board.
I don't like Usmanov, I don't trust him, and I think this is a power play to stick the knife into the club after the RVP issue. So I am wary of this so-called 'leak'. The truth is Arsenal aren't City or Chelsea and we have limitations. So when they speak of ambition when we've already got two strikers and we're still shopping for more players then I really don't know what RVP wants, whatever it is we can't provide it. Titles? Always going to be behind Chelsea and City if we try to do it via money.

Hope that isn't true. We have enough poxy attacking midfielders. Podoski, Walcott, Chamberlain, Rosicky, Zenit don't want Arshavin and Gervinho. That's ignoting the fact that Song and Ramsey aren't adverse to moving up the pitch either.
We need a defensive midfielder and another 'proper' striker since RVP is leaving. I mean seriously, enough with the attacking minded midfielders at this point.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013
Wengers clearly a major force in Arsenals 'forward' thinking selfsubtainzzzzz path.
Usmanov of course would support Wenger whom is somewhat a genius, why replace him if theres money to spend? it just sounds like Usmanov is saying under my control Wenger would be able to work with a better squad. more funds. different strategy. not so gagged in laying a solid foundation 'forward'
