Well the theft bit is a philosophical grey area.

For instance, if you were able to make a copy of a Porche 911 yourself, are you stealing a car from Porche?

The argument I mentioned goes like this (may help if you look at it with your head on it's side) :
As someone who could never buy a copy of photoshop, adobe will never get any money from me. Therefore if I get a free copy, adobe haven't lost any money because they would never have got any money from me. Yes it is wrong because it is illegal, but adobe has not suffered a theft.

I'm not going to argue the semantics of this, it's not what the thread was about, my final comment is that if you can't afford something then either you don't have it or you buy the same item second hand, you can't compare copyright infringement and media theft to building a car that looks like a porsche. I'll start another thread about it though, I don't want to just attempt to cut you off and tell you that you're wrong.

Re: Scanning Banknotes

One intriguing thing is that the link given in Bifta's picture seems unusually coy about who produces it; not a single clue as far as I can see. Does anyone know? Is it some top-secret inter-governmental organisation that, even now, is preparing to raid the homes of all who have posted here. Are you totally paranoic; if not, should you be? Have I actually missed the small print telling us the site owner's name?
