I thought Bulldog only had a 1 month running contract?

Ah ok as you haven't seen it available their coverage must suck

If they deliver their rollout program as promised they'll have higher coverage than ntl in a few months.

Pathetic
Completely lost as to why that's pathetic to be honest.

There are a lot of reasons why these delays can happen which aren't Bulldog's fault, none of them are a cause for calling them 'pathetic'. There is a certain other company called BT who are relyed upon quite heavily for connections from exchanges to C+W's network, and the delays could quite easily be due to them.

I'm sure that the people whose exchanges have been enabled early would disagree with your assessment, besides what's a few more months if you've never had the service available to you anyway, loads of alternatives including the current service?

Re: Bulldog Doubles Broadband Speed

Actually bulldog didnt stop signups because they cant handle their customers its because as they said they no longer want to be in this market, the market is going in a bad direction and is strongly priced based, and I assume c&w dont want to sacrifice quality on their network to join a price war. They plan to continue their LLU rollout so will have more coverage then ntl soon and then wholesale their LLU the same way as tiscali do.

Re: Bulldog Doubles Broadband Speed

Well Bulldog is still servicing it's customers, I got upgraded to the new 16mb service, but am actually connecting at 19.9mb(ish)

It's pretty sweet, 1mb upload and 19/20 download
I can download files via newsgroups or download accelerators at about 1.8mb per second

Bulldog are still business as usual alright, one of our members just got a bill for £800+ for 6 months usage after begging for a bill to be sent out following 6 months of no payments being taken from his bank account.
Bulldog, Open the gate? Floodgates maybe.

Re: Bulldog Doubles Broadband Speed

I found out now why people dont like bulldog.

Summary of my order.

Order status page completely blank, no error just blank for my ref number.
When ringing up the first time got told because I failed address verification is in reject mode, he said would try and bypass and send out form incase he couldnt.
2 days later got letter with login details for bulldoglounge and estimated install date of 4-6 weeks. So I assume he bypassed the verification.
Checked order status still blank page.
Amused at the fact my exchange is just enabled so cant be full, so I can only assume bulldog playing games and selling service before its available and ready at the exchange.
Rang up told them 4+ weeks lead time unacceptable for me, get it down to 2 weeks or cancel, also queried why order status dont work.
No attempt to solve problems forwarded me to cancellations.
Cancellations didnt answer phone cutoff.
Was too hot so just left it for another day

I could leave it as I have nildram ordered now, BT line is live. Then when bulldog get round to installing next century I will 2xadsl lines. But because bulldog is a year contract which I dont fancy commiting to I will probably try again cancellation this week and chargeback my install fee if necessary. I can still get LLU via BE in sept or oct.

Another isp I am looking at is a&a very power user type isp. Friend of mine has just got his mac from nildram to join a&a because since they started routing via pipex he has noticed a drop in speeds, if I have problems I will probably jump to a&a after only 1 month.
