If the same happens from a left leaning point of view the content is evaluated on it's merits, not the source site.

People don't have time to independently verify each story so the credibility of the source is important. This isn't just right-wing blogs but left-wing ones too. Anything set up to address the creators' perceived 'bias' of the mainstream news where 'bias' usually means 'challenges my political outlook'. You need only need to look at the proliferation of '
alternative media' in Scotland during the referendum to see how partisan these new alternative sources of news often are.
At least with the more established outlets, including The Guardian and The Mail, there is a basic adherence to some journalistic practice even if they are still biased. You can usually be sure that the facts of a story in The Mail are basically correct even if you feel their spin is disingenuous.
