I just find it irritating that if someone here posts a link to a story that happens to be on a right leaning site then it often gets disparaged simply because of that. The content is ignored because of where it's published.
If the same happens from a left leaning point of view the content is evaluated on it's merits, not the source site.

No, the likes of the Guardian isn't mocked on here frequently, it must be my imagination.

People don't have time to independently verify each story so the credibility of the source is important. This isn't just right-wing blogs but left-wing ones too. Anything set up to address the creators' perceived 'bias' of the mainstream news where 'bias' usually means 'challenges my political outlook'. You need only need to look at the proliferation of 'alternative media' in Scotland during the referendum to see how partisan these new alternative sources of news often are.

At least with the more established outlets, including The Guardian and The Mail, there is a basic adherence to some journalistic practice even if they are still biased. You can usually be sure that the facts of a story in The Mail are basically correct even if you feel their spin is disingenuous.

I agree but the fact remains that people on the right tend to judge left leaning reporting on the content whilst those on the left are more likely to judge based on the source. Thats all....

Well I can't speak for the right but I dismiss many left-wing blogs too because they're frankly nuts. If a source consistently gets thing wrong then why bother trusting it? If it's opinion then fine but if it's 'Cameron ADMITS he HATES disabled people - Exclusive' type stuff then what's the point?

Concidentally I read a good article about this the other day, it's mostly about the left-wing ones but I think it applies to others too:

Little Atoms is more of an opinion/story site than one that does news but I think it is probably quite left-wing considering their guests. Although as I said I don't really have a problem with bias but the recent trend of these alternative news sites that seem to be nothing more than campaigning sites for their cause.

I.E The Spectator is biased but are generally pretty honest and fair and will challenge their readers from time to time. They don't stick to the partisan line no matter what.
