Actually, there isn't - that's why they had to build Portcullis House for overflow offices, as well as offices in Millbank and Parliament Street.

bunks in the offices then lol

just did a google search for virtual tour of the house of commons and the first link shows the chamber. I think the lack of space comes from poor utilisation of the area lol

"Bunks in the office lol" - in the hundreds, if not thousands of nights I spent away on business, did I ever expect to sleep in the office....

Re 'poor utilisation of space' - it could be the listed building status that prevents putting up of partition walls.....

I think the main thing that winds me up is simply that people see what top civil servants and MPs are given in terms of wages and expenses and assume ALL government employees are like that. Really. They aren't.

I can imagine. It's the same sort of flawed reasoning that leads to the labelling of all Tories as toffs, all police as corrupt, all public sector workers as lazy, etc. etc.
