Come Windows 8 the problem will solve itself. In the meantime the new Samsung Slate 7 looks perfect but a bit too pricey.

I used to have the Archos 7, nice bit of kit but doesn't play many video files out of the box and to unlock these features cost a fair few quid. Not sure if the newer versions of Archos are the same.
