Re: Itv2 hd
You have to congratulate Virgin on digging their heels in and eventually getting stuff cheaper, its not as though ITV are a buisness or anything and need to make money, i think virgin should threaten to drop some ITV channels unless they get a better deal than $ky customers get....

Depends on how much you want ITV 2,3 & 4 HD. What Sky pay and what VM pay are totally seperate.
They both have different business models when it comes to basic HD.

My reading of ITV's reply suggests that no carriage deal is imminent and that ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD and ITV4 HD will not be on VM any time soon.

I think you would be wrong to read anything much into an email response. Companies tend to just send out a standard reply. As I recall ITV were sending out similar responses to enquiries about ITV1 HD not long before it appeared on our screens.

Re: Itv2 hd
I thought this thread was going to announce the channel was actually coming to Virgin soon, or something positive however it's just 3 pages of the usual guff. In fact most of this thread is just rehashed posts and comments from the Coming Soon. No offence meant to anyone really, I'm just get tired of reading the same thoughts and comments over and over again about the same subjects.
I think my Mrs. PMT is rubbing off on me!

Maybe, and I accept that it's difficult to tell as none of us know what neogitations might be going on behind the proverbail scenes. That said, I'd still be surprised if these channels were to appear in the near future.

Remember it took a year before we got Sky Arts HD 1 and 2 after a deal was done.

Re: Itv2 hd
You keep comparing Sky and Virgin Media. Sky are a corporation that have a choke hold on TV like Apple does on MP3/MP4 players. They are primarily a TV company and a company with billions of dollars backing from people that will shoot themselves in the face if it means screwing over someone else and being 'on top'.
Virgin Media is a well rounded service with brilliant services across all 4 platforms. They are a business and they have to make money while maintaining the high quality of services they provide. If you want awful broadband, no terrestrial channel on demand services and no choice of additional mobile services then go to Sky with their money that comes out their arse, so you can be just another number and not part of a brilliant company who because they don't have the money to sign up "***** HD 2" and "***** HD 3" that probably have viewing numbers of about 1000 people, are supposedly poor and rubbish.
Every damn post is "they take too long, where's Channel ___?". Just wait. A giant company does what is best for both itself and its customer. Its not going to lose profit or fork the fees up for all because Little Jimmy wants his ****** panel shows and repeats in HD.

Re: Itv2 hd
l will never go to Sky lets make that perfectly clear ands virgins tivo and broadband are excellent but l do believe they should be doing more with regards to getting channels quicker as there are plenty of channels they could get which are not even owned by Sky so there are no excuses its as simple as that.

So what is the point of your post? Are you saying that only negativity is allowed? If you don't agree with his post then argue with him and say why you disagree, that is the point of a forum.
Another thing, putting a grin or lol after almost every post doesn't make rudeness OK IMHO.

No I'm saying this a thread about ITV2 HD on VM , nothing at all to do with Sky. So far James has claimed Sky have locked the ITVHD channels away a myth I've shown to be wrong and he's stated Den is wrong for comparing VM to Sky , surely if you shop at Asda you check prices with its biggest rival Tesco. I have posted many complimentary posts about VM so clearly I'm not trying to indicate that only negative posts are allowed however James post was a clear attack on a member.

I'm sure you are a top notch bloke Muppetman but you have to appreciate that not everyone shares your views. You obviously don't agree with VM's policies as you have moved your tv service but not all of us think that more HD channels are the be all and ednd all. Personally I am quite happy with what I get for money. Yes I would like them to add more HD channels, especially now I have a large drive to record them on but personally I don't want to pay more for them. As far as I am concerned my VM services are pretty good value for what I want. Of course I want more though, that is human nature.
There are plenty of people who only ever post negatively. I am sure there is room enough in this forum for people who like their cable services.
