Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

I have 50mb and the superhub, but I have had absolutely no problems with it and I sometimes play Gt5 (checks for wife over my should) for hours if/when I get a midweek day off. Never ever dropped a connection and I have had it since the very first day i got them on my van!

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

[QUOTE=qasdfdsaq;35172221]Downstream power should be between -7 and +7. Around 0 is slap bang in the middle of optimum range.

Upstream power should be between 35 and 55. Again that is optimal range, not the limit. The limit is higher and equipment can can still work anywhere between 25 and 62 or more[COLOR="Silver"]

---------- Post added at 11:59 ---------- Previous post was at 11:56 ----------

On your comment on downstream level, mine are way above that, see below. Rang faults line on this and believe I ended up talking to India 1st line who was more interested in my BB speed (19 BB on a 20MB link) and running through a script on wired/wireless access i.e. they didn't click on about the levels even though I told them twice I thought they were high?

Is this reallly an issue or should I ring faults again and insist they look at my downstream power levels? I belive this has to be fixed through a site visit to fix, correct?

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

Your downstream is high and if you are worried ring this morning after 0800, I am surprised that you are getting your speed and as others have said it could lead to a fault further down the line even though it is running wll now.

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

Thanks Masque, at work now but will ring after 8am later this week. I am getting my speed in the morning but in early evening is drops down a little to around 16-18MB.

SH is stable and works fine for me, in fact for my work laptop wireless access it is notably better than the Linksys wireless router I had (4 years old though) before. However with the high downstream power levels, don't want to wait for a potential problem happening, might as well get it right now.

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

Some help please. This is a great thread but I am not as knowledgeable as you guys. I have upgraded from 50 to 100 and had a new super hub installed and now I cannot get uploads from some basic sites that I was able to before. Any help. I thought that the upgrade would provide me with greater access - no way. Any thoughts? Please.

Really some pretty basic ones. Rightmove, Microsoft, lovefilms (used many times before), NatWest. All sites I used before. Really random. Thanks for the interest.

If you know how to set your web cache in your browser try this to see if it fixes your problem

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

I have had enough of the 100mb with it's pathetic speeds and slow downs.

I just downgraded back to my old trusty 50mb...

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

50mb is so much better and stable.

I have still not faced any timeouts or slowdowns in browsing or download speeds. no drop in speedtest results at any time of the day.

I don't think I will be upgrading to 100mb anytime soon.

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

I just wanted to join the "100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING" club by making a post.

Why did I bother? 50mb was perfectly good and now I can barely get 5mbits with the 100mbit Superhub - Superglub more like!

I would like to think someone out there can help me find the perfect setting or tweak but I dont think I'm going to get it from what I've read. So I have to wait for an engineer to visit and fiddle with the cabinet outside.

If I can't get my old modem back will going back to 50mb on the Superhub bring back normality?
