Mob justice tends to happen when the people no longer feel the sentence matches the crime which is exactly what is happening in the UK at the minute sentences for the most horrific things seem way too light and far too easy for the person that commits these acts. But if you call for tougher we then get people saying that wouldn't be fair blah blah blah. These things that did this are lucky there are not on the end of a rope because thats where they belong then none of them would have to worry about reprisal after release.

What do you expect? The police have their duty, to everyone, however sick and evil their actions were. Unfortunately some people have decided that mob justice is justified and therefore put her details all over the place, so now they will try to get the police to protect her.

It may be horrible to contemplate but is there an alternative?

When **** bags put a defenceless child through what they did they deserve mob justice, that child suffered at the hands of a mob albeit a small mob but it was enough to put him through some horific injuries and pain during his short life. If I had my way they'd be tied to a post and stoned to death, that child deserved more than this.

So many people who should have cared for Baby Peter and a life lost because they didn't.

Baby Peter's mother has been jailed indefinitely for causing or allowing the toddler's death.

The 17-month-old died after months of abuse in Haringey, north London. His mother must serve at least five years.

Her 32-year-old boyfriend was jailed for 12 years for causing the death and for life for raping a two-year-old girl. He must serve at least 10 years.

Their lodger, Jason Owens, was jailed indefinitely for causing Baby Peter's death, to serve at least three years. <snip>

Five employees of Haringey Council in north London, including children's services director Sharon Shoesmith, were sacked after Baby Peter's death.

The General Medical Council has suspended two doctors involved in the case.

The "horrifying" death of Baby Peter "could and should have been prevented", a report into his care has said.
A serious case review said agencies lacked "thoroughness and urgency" by not taking the 17-month-old into care.
The government-ordered review said the authorities should have stopped the situation "in its tracks at the first serious incident".

is a bit worrying. as in a couple of years she won't be showing any signs of being a risk to anybody much.

What do you actually have to do to get a sentence worth it's time these days i cannot think of two bigger pieces of **** (thats being nice given this is a family forum). We have done a lot of talking lately about politicians that don't understand public anger but judges have been at that game for a lot longer and with far worse people then mp's will ever be.

The judge was hampered by the fact that not one of the three took any responsibility and thus were not charged with murder but were charged with lesser crimes with smaller tariffs.

He did the best he could by making the proviso that they should not be released until they were no danger to small children.

So because the police could not point to the actual guilty person they appear to have been leniently treated.What we need in cases like this is to be able to have a blanket charge so that people can't avoid prosecution by pointing the finger at others who were in the same vicinity.

I read the Victoria Climbie report and cried. I really dread to think what Baby Peter's report/file says too, I think the collective persons responsible should be made to read out loud what they have done and how Baby Peter suffered every day of their lives. There is no justice for that beautiful little child.

So the message this sends then is if your going to do harm to a baby do it as a group and don't take responsibility and you get a lighter sentence then you deserve. We know it was these three so whether they take the responsibility or not they should all have got long harsh sentences and send that message to those in this country that would harm any child. I cannot and never will understand people that could do what they did to a little kid and can only hope other prisoners will dish out some justice more in line with what they deserve.

Children. I dread to think how many hundreds haven't made the papers, let down and abused by the people supposed to care for them the most and clueless social workers

Haven't they got indetermined sentences, with a minimum of 5 years etc. With a bit of luck they'll turn into Hindley's and never see freedom again. Won't hold my breath though...
