Another handy tip is to customise buttons on the first screen - I have FF x 12, FF x 32 and Rew x 12 set up for those annoying advert moments

Great tip there. I have put x32 FF & Rew on the Skip Chapter buttons although you do have to have pretty quick reactions to press play at the right time when the show restarts

Tivo has this very nifty feature where it automatically rewinds a little (pro rata to your forward speed) when you press stop. Works an absolute treat, you can fast forward at 64x and stop exactly where you want every time - only problem is that as I understand it Tivo have patented the feature.

If you have a model that can do sequences then you can set it up to enter you PIN automatically. I have mine set to the # button.

Oooh - clever : I'll do that too ! Do you need to have a pause between the key presses, or can you just slam in the four digit code (as four key pushes) ?
