Re: How much Hard drive space?
First hard drive I ever used was in an ancient IBM XT - it was 10MB capacity, about the size of a CDROM drive & weighed over a kilo.
Now I have 160GB + 500GB in my tower & 300GB on an external USB drive.
But probably the most amazing thing, compared to that ancient 10MB brick, is my Gizmo Jr 1GB stick - 34 x 7 x 2mm, but 100 times the capacity ....

Re: How much Hard drive space?
i have 140gb in main machine (2 partitions)
in server / download machine i have a small 20 GB boot drive
i then have a download disk of 140 GB and a storage/backup drive of about 100GB
I also have a load of other hard drives floating around but not used as i learnt hard drives are crap and will die on you regardless of what u do so for the last 5 years i download something its then used then deleted (as u can always get it again if needed) if i want to keep it i store it on a DVD.
now all i need is someone to invent a super high storage dvd before all the dvd's i burnt over the years stop working
I will buy a NAS next year having looked into them for home use they have a lot of nice features they are adding so im keeping my eye on it.

You could always reconfigure that server/back up machine with freeNAS
