Speaking as someone who's connected with this industry, this decision is a total nonsense.
Yes, it may stop kiddes buying hardcore DVDs through the post, but given the amount of stuff that's already available for free, it's really going to have damn all effect in "protecting" (hah!) them.
As for the fines, they're a joke, given the size of organisations like Pabo and Interfact, they're not even a slap on the wrist, but more of just a wagged finger.
There is a magazine called ETO (Erotic Trade Only) which, unsurprisingly, is a trade magazine for the adult industries and this has been discussed a fair bit in there recently and the companies involved have already stated that if they lost they would take it to the House of Lords and the European Court.
But in all honesty it doesn't matter a damn because the decision is only going to stop companies in this country from adverting R18 DVDs on websites *based in the UK*, it can't do anything about those abroad.
Yes, ok, it could still be argued that they are "sending obscene material through the post" but unless HM C&E start opening loads of mail, they're not going to have any effect.
Paging King Canute...! *
* Yes, I *know* he didn't actually say he *could* turn back the tide and he was just demonstrating to sycophantic courtiers that he wasn't as powerful as God, but you know what I mean...!

This has changed now since Darren James and Lara Roxx were tested as HIV+ and now most performers are using condoms.

But porn movies are not for the purpose of sex education any more than James Bond teaches how to get into the Intelligence Services!
What we should be doing is giving kids *proper* sex education *before* they need it, but that's another topic.
