Oh dear. No show from the NTL Engineer.
And it was all going SO good! He even called my missus on her mobile to check she was in @ 11am this morning! Come 1:15pm, no show.
I feel some free digi tv coming on.

I wonder if they will replace it with a Samsung. Are they better than the Pace's?
|
even though you can't currently get a samsung. the box is exactly the same really, just a different colour plastic and now 2 internal modems (for excwc areas anyway). the boxes are the same as the pace 4000 (excwc) - in other words, not worthing the plastic they're in!

No they aren't. They were designed to be equivalent to a 4000, but they're markedly different in almost every way - 100Mb ethernet port instead of 10, two CPUs instead of one, different IR remote.... etc.

Well spiderplant says they use the same chipset as the 4000, so take it up with him!
And the 4000 can use a blue remote. Sort of.

It does use the same chipset (it's only one chip actually). But most of the other bits are very different. As is a lot of the software.
But it's all irrelevant, because as BBK says, the Samsung box is not available in KevAmiga's area.

Well now i have a Pace box (again). Was working 100% OK last night, and again this morning! WooHoo! Rearranging the channels into order is a nightmare tho!
Anyway. At least now i can watch Takeshi's Castle on Challenge TV :-)
