I thought it was already here, I've seen your profile photo, and I'm thinking muppetman sounds like a character from there.
I am the yellow bird, though not as big (size isn't everything, honest, it ain't )

The trouble is the usual suspects tend to play the negative card when it comes to Virgin but alas don't let true facts cloud your judgement most revered one.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.
No wonder BT are holding out with Virgin.
They are certainly not getting their way with Sky, so were getting all the flack.
"....Ofcom rejected its attempt to force a wholesale deal before the start of the Premier League season....
The decision means subscribers to BT’s YouView packages will not be able to watch the majority of live televised football for the foreseeable future. BT had applied to the regulator to use its interim powers to force a deal before the first matches on 17 August, arguing BSkyB was abusing its dominance of the market to damage a rival. Ofcom has not rejected the complaint outright, but said today it does not believe BT will be damaged enough to justify emergency action. It said it will not make a full decision for months and potentially not until next year....."

Once you strip away the HD and +1 variants of channels you are left with the following channels exclusive to XL:
Liverpool TV
Motors TV
CBS Reality
CBS Drama
Horror Channel
FOX
Comedy Central Extra
Disney XD
Disney Channel
Disney Junior
Nick Jnr 2
Discovery Travel & Living
Discovery Turbo
National Geographic Wild
National Geographic
History
Crime & Investigation Network
Bio
MTV Rocks
MTV Dance
TV5
Of the 21 channels 4 are for kids and 1 is a foreign channel. If you are not fussed about HD, it certainly would be worth while considering dropping down to the L package and saving some money. You need to ask yourself how many of the above channels you've ever watched, and can you live without them.
Got to admit however as a fan of factual programming the loss of National Geographic and the History Channel would be difficult however still plenty of excellent factual channels in the L package:
Yesterday
Eden
Discovery Channel
Animal Plant
Discovery History
Discovery Science
History 2

Thanks Chad that's a really helpful post. I am considering a downgrade - reading your post it looks like I'd stand to lose 4 or 5 channels I watch regularly, but if I keep Discovery I can probably do without Nat Geo, so it boils down to Fox and Comedy Central Extra.

Is comedy central extra show same as comedy central, or does it show different content
Can't remember, don't tend to watch it much (too much to see as is)
